Today we have planned our first person diary entry ready for when we complete our independent writes next week. We ensured we included the correct Year 5 standards in our plan to really help us when we are writing next week! 

This week in writing Year 4 have started reading their brand new text for this term' The Firework Maker's Daughter'. We have created some role on the walls to begin to understand different characters thoughts, feelings and emotions.

On Wednesday, our Year 5 classes travelled to London to watch Wicked. The performance was incredible and we throughly enjoyed the experience. We were so proud of all the children and a member of the public commented on how well behaved they were. Well done everyone! 

In Grammar this week, we have started to look at a going deeper year 4 skill of using relative clauses to add extra detail into our writing. We will continue to look at this skill next week!

This week in writing we have written our independent write, it was lovely to see how focussed and determined the children were when writing independently. We look forward to reading these writes! Well done year 4!

Today we looked at a range of persuasive techniques in letters. We learned what they were and then found examples to help us in our writing this week. 

We wrote simple captions to describe the character, 'Jack Frost'. Within our captions, we used different adjectives to describe and applied our Phase 2/Phase 3 phonics to spell. We are becoming much more independent when using a finger space between words.

Today in Writing we introduced the next topic we would be writing about and that is an alternative character, the class was very excited when they learned they would be working together to create these new characters and we ended up with some amazing creations, such as; a Sheep who lost his baa,…
