Curriculum Statement

We firmly believe that our curriculum provides an excellent foundation for children to develop as individuals allowing all children to fulfil their potential.  All learners are empowered to achieve their dreams as we believe that everyone has the potential to be extraordinary.

Important values such as mutual respect for one another regardless of age, gender, religion and academic ability are firm in our foundations. We hold dearly the British Values and are proud to be British Citizens.  At Waterside every child really does matter and we make a different to each one of them.

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do.  They underpin our teaching and learning and provide an environment which prepares them for the next stages in their lives through becoming confident and happy citizens and reflect and resilient learners.

The aim of our provision is to encourage and foster a love for learning.  We believe that this is the key to academic success and are continually striving to improve outcomes for our families.  Our curriculum is designed to allow children the opportunity to embark on new adventures and discover the unknown- making them love to lean and excited to succeed.

Information about who to contact regarding our curriculum can be found on the 'contact us' page.

Religious Education

Parents and carers have the right to withdraw their child from all, or part of the school's Religious Education (RE) curriculum. If you wish to withdraw your child from RE, please email Mrs Willis, headteacher, outlining which elements of the RE curriculum you wish for your child to be withdrawn from.
