In Grammar this week, Y4 learnt all about relative clauses! This is a particularly tricky part of Grammar, however Y4 showed a great deal of enthusiasm in this lesson, with some children even including some relative clauses in their independent writes later in the week! Super work Y4!  

This week, Y4 have consolidated subtraction using column method. We have found this a bit tricky previously however it was wonderful to see so many children make some great progress with this important skill. Keep up the super maths work Y4!

We absolutely loved role playing our new story Greta and the Giants. We completed freeze frames from different parts in the story to make sure we knew the sequence before writing a retell.

This week in science we have started our new topic Plants. We looked at what plants need to survive and grow. We then conducted an experiment where we planted seeds, some have a lack of space to grow, lack of air or lack of light and we will continue to observe how they grow.

We’v enjoyed preparing questions to ask Greta then taking it in turns to be Greta in the hot seat.  We also practised various freeze frames to retell a particular part of the story.  Great teamwork by everyone and the children were very enthusiastic.  Well done!

Miss Cawley came to visit and brought Oakley with her.  The Puffins were so excited and it was great to see how much Oakley had grown.  He was very alert and enjoyed seeing all of the children.  He even had a babble during our reading session!
