All about Josiah Wedgewood
In History we are continuing with our topic ‘The great change makers’, today we have focused on Josiah Wedgewood we have looked at what his famous Jasperware, which is his blue and white pottery. We used our i pads to record all the changes he help make to the country.
Hot seating!
Today we used freeze framing to re enact key elements of the story. We then created a bank of questions to ask Plop and used this to complete our hot seating.
Debating in Year 6
Year 6 have taken part in a debate to consider whether animals should be used in the war.
Hanukkah discussion!
We looked at pictures relating to Hanukkah and discussed what each of the images show/represent. The children all knew that Hanukkah is celebrated for 8 days!
Representing numbers 4 and 5
We represented the numbers 4 and 5 using different objects in a five frame. Using the five frame to support our understanding, we were able to explain that if the frame is full there must be 5 objects and if the five frame is missing one, there must be 4 .
Super Scientist
In Year 3 we have been learning about Vertebrates and Invertebrates. Look at this amazing learning from one of our Turtles! We sorted animals using the iPad to help and explained how animal’s skeletons are different.
Junk Modelling Buildings!
We have been junk modelling different buildings. We took inspiration from the temples visited by Hindu's as part of their Diwali celebrations.

Hand art to create a menorah
We used our hands and sponges to create menorah art, as part of our learning about the festival of Hanukkah. We carefully positioned our fingers to create nine candles before adding the flames to the candles using a sponge. We discussed the significance of the menorah to Hanukkah.
Musical maestros
Year 6 used music technology to practice composing four bar melodies. We experimented with pitch by using a piano keyboard, seeing how the notes move on the musical stave.
Den building!
Year two showed our school values today by working together in teams to create and build a den. They showed super team work, determination, communication skills and friendship by supporting and encouraging eachother.
Clay, bugs and mud!
Year 4 had great fun making clay creatures, mud paint and mini habitats for worms!
Sorting Objects by Size
The children have been great at identifying and using the vocabulary 'big and small'. We looked at a range of objects from the environment and sorted them into groups in pairs. We told our friends why we thought one was big and one was small.
