Thank you so much to everybody who attended the play and stay sessions. It was lovely to show you around our classroom and share our learning about the farm with you. I know the children had so much fun decorating animals, showing you their favourite areas and making memories with you. 

This week, Y6 have completed some further work on algebra. At first, algebra can feel like a really tricky part of Maths however Y6 have showed their determination and excellence to persevere in our lessons this week! Well done Y6, you are all amazing!

For our piece of creative writing this week, we are going to be writing an informal letter as a survivor of the Titanic. Y6 have really enjoyed learning all about the Titanic and have produced some amazing pieces of work this week! Well done Y6, I look forward to reading your final independent…

In History we have being learning learning about are human ancestors. We looked at cave paintings created in the Stone Age. We learnt that these were found all over the world and often depicted animals. We explored how these paintings can tell us about life in the Stone Age.

Today Y5 have had a hands on lesson examining 3-D shapes and their properties. We have reminded ourselves of their names and also examined the number of vertices, edges and faces they have. The children have then created fact files of these on their tablets that they can look back at later on.

In computing we have continued to look at effective searching online. Today we have used our searching skills to answer questions about Dinosaurs. We have looked at how when we search online it creates a digital footprint.

Today we looked at the features of a letter. We identified these features and year 2 standards used in a variety of different examples. 

This morning we spoke about Red2Blue and discussed how we can regulate our emotions and who to go to if we feel like we are in a red head. We then listened to the story ‘My monster and me’ and ‘The colour monster’. We then had a whole class discussion about feelings and what colour we are today…

Today during DT we made our very own tuna pasta salad. We used the knives to chop the different ingredients carefully and safely. We then followed the instructions to mix them altogether. We had lots of fun doing this and our favourite bit was the taste test

This week we have planned to write an alternative version of Jack and the Beanstalk! The children thought of some great ideas. We have changed the Giant to a Mermaid and instead of a beanstalk, Jack will dive into a crystal, clear lagoon to the Mermaid’s castle!

In PE we have being looking at balancing on different body parts, and what we can do to stay balanced.
