This is the bear…
We have had a walk to the local park and taken the bear with us. We had lots of fun and so did the bear! When we got back to School, we realised that we had left the bear at the park! Oh no!
Comparing amounts
We have used the mathematical vocabulary greater than, less than and equal to, to compare amounts practically using the correct symbols.
Mathematical vocabulary
We have compared groups of amount using the vocabulary fewer, more and the same. The children used counters, cubes or compare bears to make two groups and then verbally said if the groups were fewer, more or the same - “I have fewer counters than cubes. I have more cubes than counters.” They all…
Changing fonts
In computing we have used our IPads to change the font, size of the writing and colour. We experimented how this changes how our presentation looks.
Continuous shells
We have created continuous line drawings of shells. We have tried so hard to keep our pen on the page to draw a full shell. It takes patience and concentration!
It’s all about balance!
With Bee Active, we are focusing on balance and the importance of space. We know to find space we need to look with our heads up, scan the area and that we may need to change our direction. We practised balancing in lots of different fun games!
Comparing Keswick and Stoke-on-Trent
Today in Geography we have compared Keswick and Stoke-on-Trent. We have looked at the physical and human features, ability to travel and the population.
A pledge to help!
As a part of our citizenship programme, we have pledged to help out at home. We have all individually made our pledge and I look forward to seeing the photographs that’s parent send of their child actioning their pledge.
Super sentences!
We have had lots of practise using capital letters, finger spaces, full stops and using our phonetical knowledge so today we have applied it to writing super words/sentences for our class text ‘This is the bear and the scary night’.
One less!
We have practically worked out what one less of a given number is using the tens frames and the cubes. We made the number that was written on our tens frame, took one cube away and verbally said what one less of the given number is.
Features of Stoke-on-Trent
During Geography, we have used our iPad to record our voice labelling the features of Stoke-on-Trent. The children enjoyed using this new app whilst using our geographical language to complete their task.
Excellent PE skills
Today in PE We have used the bats, balls and cones, we moved slowly, then fast, we played the traffic light game, making sure we were always looking and listening.
