This week Year 3 have completed their NFER assessments, and I could not be more proud of the whole class. They have all shown great resilience and determination doing their very best all week. Well Done Turtles. Let’s have a look at what else we have been up to this week.
Writing
This week we have completed our independent writes, we have created an acrostic poem all about moles. We enjoyed researching about the creature so we could use this information in our poems.
Maths
We haven’t had as many maths lessons as we normally would have due to our assessments, however towards the end of the week we practiced adding using the formal method.
Science
This week we have continued look at ROCKS, the class particular enjoyed this weeks lesson as we learnt about the which rock make up the planet Earth. We learned that the Earth is made out of 4 thick layers the crust, mantle, outer core and Inner core. The children created some amazing stories detailing a journey through Earth.
Humanities
This week in History we have continued to look at Cradles of Civilisation, we were introduced to the Shang Civilisation and Indus Valley. We researched the similarities and differences between all the early civilisations.
In Geography we focused on how farming has changed our landscapes. We looked at how marshlands and forest have been cleared to make space for farms.
