We have simply had an amazing science week in school with lots of hands on investigations and one day creative workshops for all children. They have loved every minute and the theme of journeys was extended into some high quality writing. A huge thank you to parents, for your donations for comic relief. We will ensure the money is paid to the charity this week.
March is the month of review for Waterside. I will be sending out the parent questionnaires towards the end of the month and conducting staff and pupil surveys also. This helps us to further improve our school to make it purposeful and highly productive for the children. It is all about their education and preparing them for the next stages of their education. At Waterside, we look forward to our two day Ofsted inspection to potentially move to outstanding. We are confident we can and I know all the parents ared behind the school and also want their children attending an outstanding school. We have put a parent drop in to help give both positive and suggestions for improvement. The date of the forum is Tuesday 2nd April. You can drop in between 9 and 10.30am and 3.00 – 6pm. Please come along, we want to work in partnership with parents.
I would like to remind parents that whilst at times, at odd times situations will arise which cause emotional stress or anger, we need to ensure we speak to each other with respect. We will not tolerate aggressive behaviour and shouting towards staff. Therefore, please ensure that you speak calmly, in private and not a public audience and if a problem continues come and see me.
We have had some work carried out in school over the weekend to showcase our curriculum and how it ensures that children at Waterside have a deep and high quality learning journey to reach milestones and to love learning. I am sure they will tell you about some of the fabulous changes. You might even spot some bits in the school entrance?
