Animal groups
We have learnt the differences between the animal groups including the physical features that will be different. The children then completed a sorting task to group the images into the correct animal type. They learnt about mammals, fish, birds, reptiles and amphibians.
Ink
We have used water soluble pens to draw shells and spirals. We then added water to it and watched the ink spread.
This is the bear…
We have had a walk to the local park and taken the bear with us. We had lots of fun and so did the bear! When we got back to School, we realised that we had left the bear at the park! Oh no!
Comparing amounts
We have used the mathematical vocabulary greater than, less than and equal to, to compare amounts practically using the correct symbols.

Continuous shells
We have created continuous line drawings of shells. We have tried so hard to keep our pen on the page to draw a full shell. It takes patience and concentration!
It’s all about balance!
With Bee Active, we are focusing on balance and the importance of space. We know to find space we need to look with our heads up, scan the area and that we may need to change our direction. We practised balancing in lots of different fun games!
Excellent PE skills
Today in PE We have used the bats, balls and cones, we moved slowly, then fast, we played the traffic light game, making sure we were always looking and listening.
This is the Bear and the Scary Night Talk for Writing
We are beginning a new story in our literacy lessons, This is the Bear and the Scary night! Today we have created a talk for writing map to help us to remember the story and we then discussed what actions we could include for our retell.

During Maths, we have practically worked out what is one more than a given number. We have used concrete objects and the tens frames to make our given number, add one more to it and watch our number become larger!

We have begun our new class text called ‘This is the bear and the scary night’

Jungle Yoga!
This half term we have Yoga on a Monday. We have practiced lots of different jungle poses and have been building on creating a jungle story using them. We have perfected the parrot, tree and log pose!
