We had a super Sports Day with Reception!
We have been working so hard on our races and we were so happy to share these with our families. We all took part in different races and cheered our friends on when it was their turn. 
thank you so much for coming and sharing this with us. 

Super maths outside! We have been representing numbers and learning the correct formation through the number rhymes. I was amazed at their efforts. Well done Nursery.

This week we have learnt about people who help us. We have been focusing on what they look like and how to spot them in the community, this may be by their uniform, what vehicles the drive or certain places. we have began to talk about how they help us and we will continue this in more depth next…

We have been getting ready for reception by reviewing our pre writing shape progress. I am so proud of the progression in our pencil control and I can see lots of different lines and shapes being formed.

This week during PE we have practised for our upcoming Sports Day! We have practised a sprint, sack races and an assault course. 

We made Father's Day cards for our dads to show our appreciation for all that they do for us. We decorated the front of our card by colouring and sticking, and then wrote a message inside. We are looking forward to giving our cards to our loved ones on Sunday. Happy Father's Day!

We worked on our spatial reasoning by using 2D shapes to create a picture. We selected, rotated and manipulated shapes to ensure they were in the correct position and orientation when creating a desired image. 

We had lots of fun making gingerbread men using the ingredients we bought from Lidl. We carefully measured out the ingredients before mixing them together and rolling the mixture. We then used a cutter to cut out our gingerbread men shapes and baked the gingerbread men in the oven for 20 minutes.…

In PE this week we have focussed on our listening skills and following instructions of a game. The children have loved using the parachute to take part in lots of different activities. We were able to wait our turn and support our friends when it was their turn with cheering.

We used our fine motor skills to cut around different animals. We then talked about where they live on the farm based on their needs and preferences. For example cows love to eat grass so we know they lived in a field. We discussed together if we were unsure of some animals homes to remind…

Thank you so much to everybody who attended the play and stay sessions. It was lovely to show you around our classroom and share our learning about the farm with you. I know the children had so much fun decorating animals, showing you their favourite areas and making memories with you. 

In PE we have being looking at balancing on different body parts, and what we can do to stay balanced.
