The Hungry Caterpillar Story Sequencing

We had so much fun and the children can talk in depth about our…
World Book Day
We enjoyed celebrating World Book Day today! We brought our favourite books to school and shared these with our buddy readers from Year 4. We also read the story 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt' and participated in role play to retell the story. During the afternoon, we created our own bookmarks to…

Our First Trip!
Nursey had their first school trip this week and what an amazing time we had!
I just want to say how proud I am of the children, their behaviour and attitude on the trip were brilliant and they were very sensible and safe.
We had the best time going on the minibus to the park and then…
Letter formation
Today in literacy we have been focusing on forming the letters c, an and o. We began by tracing the letters before having a go at forming them ourselves. This is a real focus currently as the children are building up to being able to write captions and full sentences. We love writing in reception!

Christmas cards
We got creative by making our own Christmas/winter cards this week. We used a sponge to print paint on the front cover, creating the outline of a snowman. We then used glue to add finer details to our design. Inside our cards, we wrote a message to our loved ones. We can't wait to take them home…
Initial Sounds
Nursery have been working very hard on hearing the initial sound of their names. They can now do this and we have moved on to hearing the initial sound of a variety of words.
We have loved playing ‘Bertha the Bus’ in phonics and this has helped us to hear the first sound in…
Literacy AL - Pre writing Shapes
The children have been practising their pencil grips and pencil control to trace over different pre-writing shapes. They have also applied this independently within the provision.
Brilliant concentration and determination.
