Hanukkah discussion!
We looked at pictures relating to Hanukkah and discussed what each of the images show/represent. The children all knew that Hanukkah is celebrated for 8 days!
Representing numbers 4 and 5
We represented the numbers 4 and 5 using different objects in a five frame. Using the five frame to support our understanding, we were able to explain that if the frame is full there must be 5 objects and if the five frame is missing one, there must be 4 .

Hand art to create a menorah
We used our hands and sponges to create menorah art, as part of our learning about the festival of Hanukkah. We carefully positioned our fingers to create nine candles before adding the flames to the candles using a sponge. We discussed the significance of the menorah to Hanukkah.
Fine Motor Rangoli Patterns!

Children in Need
Today we celebrated Children in Need. We discussed why we are celebrating and how different people celebrate.
The children loved coming to school in yellow, spotty clothes! We loved creating masks, cutting, tracing and taking part in Pudsey activities!
Positional language
We learnt that we can use positional language (e.g. in, on, behind, in front) to describe the position of objects. We followed instructions to demonstrate our understanding of this vocabulary. We then used the vocabulary ourselves to describe the position of the teddy bear.
Story Time
In our literacy adult Led this week, we have looked closely at one of our treasure books - We're Going on a Bear Hunt. We loved sitting down and listening to the story, we could even join in with familiar words/phrases in the book.
