Today Year 3 have been investigating roots, they have started an experiment where they will watch the roots of a carrot grow over time.

In preparation for our last piece of writing, a journalistic report, we brainstormed all we knew about a key eyewitness in the story of ‘Oranges in No Man’s Land’.

In our ICT lessons, year 2 have been looking at the artwork of Piet Mondrian and trying to recreate his artwork using the laptops and tablets.  You can see from some of the children’s work that this is an artist who used lots of lines and bold colours in his paintings.

The Puffins had a fantastic time at the Monkey Forest today.  We even saw a baby monkey that had been born overnight.  The children were a real credit to the school and our tour guide told us lots of interesting facts about the monkeys.

In Maths this week, we have been learning about the importance of Maths as we get older. We have discussed key terminology including 'investment' and  'financial risk' before attempting to make money investing in businesses!

Year 5 Dolphins have revisited their homophone knowledge in their grammar lesson today.  It was lovely to see how this skill has improved since we last investigated it!

Year 6 have been striking their best poses ready for their leavers photos. Watch this space for a letter to explain how you can purchase your child’s photo as a keepsake for their last year in primary school.

This week had a lovely time visiting our new teachers. Miss Olenczuk taught us about the artist Bradley Theodore and then we painted our self portraits in his style.

We had the best time visiting the Monkey Forest at Trentham Gardens! We learned about where the monkeys live, their diet and behaviour. We had such a good time looking at the monkeys in their habitat and saw lots of baby monkeys too!
