The children are settled and learning well in class. I have to say the new Nursery and Reception have begun school with confidence. This week we have visitors into Waterside for Viking workshops, Year 5 and 6 visiting the war museum and Year 1 and 2 in the local community engaging in an enchanted woodland adventure. Experiences are essential for our school curriculum as we believe your children learn best by going out and seeing all the wonders of the world first hand. It is most exciting.
Last week we spoke to the children about the importance of 100% attendance. This year, we will be running a prize box for each class for 100% attendance. Each half term the best class will also win an all expenses trip from PSFA funds for being at school every day. Attendance is vital to ensure not only your child thrives academically but also socially.
This term I can confirm that I have had requests for holidays in term time. I can confirm that holidays in term time are not authorised and have a detrimental effect on pupil’s education. Therefore, we ask you to reconsider the times you book your holidays. We have term dates on the school website for this academic year and 2019/2020.
This week we will be sending out the after school clubs for children along with parent workshops for parents to attend. The booking of activities will be on a first come first serve as they are extremely popular.
Should you have any questions please do come and ask.
